about us •
In The Southern Sun is a self-funded initiative led by a group of close friends and partners: Kimo Kennedy (Artist Manager & Co-Founder of Eleven 17), Jason Cutinella (Founder & CEO of NMG Network), Kamea Hadar (Founder of POW!WOW!), and Keola Rapozo (Co-Founder and Creative Director of FITTED Hawai’i). With over 20 years of friendship and creative collaboration, this marks the first time the group has officially joined forces on a single project—blending art, storytelling, and cultural experience into a singular vision.
“It’s always been our effort individually and now as a collective to bring experiences to our community—whether it be through visual art, apparel, storytelling, or activations,” says Kimo Kennedy, co-founder of Eleven 17 Creative. “In The Southern Sun encapsulates all of these things in one, and we welcome both our kama’āina and visitors alike to share this space.”

ABOUT POW!WOW! •
Founded in Hawai‘i and now active across the globe, POW!WOW! is a creative collective dedicated to transforming spaces through public art, cultural exchange, and community storytelling. In The Southern Sun is the group’s most ambitious long-term exhibition installation to date in their home state, following an earlier pop-up at Bishop Museum. This new exhibit blends visual art, cultural narrative, and multisensory design in an evolved format for the collective.
